Scope and single purpose
VietBoost helps you save and organize web pages, links, media references, and quick notes for research, learning, and later review. The extension uses only the data necessary to provide, protect, maintain, and measure the reliability of features that directly support this purpose.
Access on websites you visit
To display Quick Action and let you save the current page, create a note, scan visible media, or download media you select, the extension can run on HTTP and HTTPS pages you visit. It may locally process the current URL, domain, title, visible text, media links, and page metadata. VietBoost does not sell browsing data, build advertising profiles, or automatically upload original media files.
Data stored locally
Language, settings, interface state, local usage counters, links, media metadata, notes, collections, and read-later status are stored in your Chrome profile. Chrome Web Store policy treats locally processed information as user data even when it has not been transmitted to VietBoost.
Accounts and authentication
When you register or sign in, VietBoost processes your email address, account identifier, membership status, authenticated session, and authentication tokens needed to connect the website and extension. Website passwords are hashed with scrypt and are never stored in plain text. The extension does not read passwords from other websites.
Library sync
When you sign in and use the Library, saved links, titles, notes, labels, collections, status, and timestamps are synchronized to your VietBoost account over HTTPS. Signed-out guests continue to store their Library locally. Original image and video files are not automatically synced. Account entitlements, quota, and necessary usage history are associated with the account to prevent resets and abuse.
VietBoost AI and personal API keys
When you explicitly invoke AI, the prompt, selected text, or context you provide is sent through VietBoost servers to the provider you selected. Personal API keys are encrypted in your account vault, decrypted only on the server to fulfill your explicit request, and are never returned to the website or extension. No content is sent to an AI provider unless you invoke an AI task, and you can delete each vault key at any time.
Semantic search
When you explicitly choose semantic search, the title, quote, note, labels, and source domain of up to 100 library items are sent to OpenAI using the key in your vault to create embeddings. VietBoost stores the derived embedding with its model version, never sends original media files, and removes the embedding when the library item is deleted.
Team workspace
A workspace owner explicitly selects each collection to share. Signed-in members can view the current contents of those collections; all other collections and Inbox remain private. Invitation codes are one-time bearer tokens stored only as hashes and expire after seven days.
Telemetry, quotas, and reliability
After you consent to telemetry, VietBoost may record an anonymous installation identifier, extension version, release channel, product event name, and coarse events such as a completed download, feature opened, or upgrade clicked. Invalid URLs, prompts, and usernames are removed before storage. For signed-in accounts, necessary usage events may be associated with the account to calculate quotas, protect the service, prevent fraud, and support operations.
Payments
The extension is free to install but may unlock paid VIP features. SePay and PayPal process payment details directly. VietBoost stores only the order, amount, currency, status, membership term, and transaction reference needed to verify, activate, renew, support, or refund a purchase. VietBoost does not store card numbers or online-banking credentials.
Sharing and service providers
Data is transferred only to services necessary to provide a feature you request, including VietBoost infrastructure, authentication and payment services, and the AI provider you select. VietBoost does not sell data, transfer data to data brokers, use data for personalized advertising, or use data for creditworthiness or lending.
Security and retention
Data transmitted between the extension, website, and VietBoost servers is protected using HTTPS. Account and transaction data is retained while the account is active or as necessary to provide the service, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Local data remains until you delete it in the extension, clear browser data, or uninstall the extension.
Your choices and rights
You can disable telemetry, remain signed out to keep the Library local, avoid AI, delete local content, sign out, or revoke extension permissions. You can request access, export, correction, or deletion through the Privacy section of your account or the Support page. Some transaction records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
